I like to think I´m a big fan of cartoons of all persuasions because of the deep philosophical implications of their themes and the surprising manner in which they delve into the contemporary weltanschauung.
It´s not because I´ve never grown up, and have nothing better to do with my time than to stick my head into the idiot box. OK?
Well, because of my astute knowledge of the world according to cartoons, I thought I´d bring my monumental understanding onto Colombian cities to shed some kind of insight into their personalities. What do you think? Have I got them right, or am I being horribly infantile and unkind?
Bogotá.

If you have a go at describing Bender Rodriguez, there won´t seem to be any real reason to love him. He´s loud, kind of obnoxious, thinks of himself before others, and can´t survive without smoke or alcohol. But… you know… he´s Bender! Hyper, garrulous, and fun-loving, you´d think that you´d get enough of him before too long; but, before you know it, you can´t get enough of him, and have watched every single season of Futuruma pretty much to get your fix of his antics. Kind of like the good old Bog, really.
Medellín.

Confident, finely-chiselled, and very friendly, it´s easy to see why Johnny Bravo can´t stop talking about himself. Sound like any city you know?
Cali.

As in the words of the greatest epic poem of all time, Michelangelo is a party dude. Find another city that parties as hard as our beloved Cali, and I´ll eat my half-shell.
Cartagena.

An all-round nice guy who´s always got your back, Chef is all about the finer things in life. This includes good old fashioned loving to a phenomenal extent.
Villa de Leyva.

Classic, peaceful, and nothing if not lovable, Snoopy is everybody´s favourite family cartoon character. He does often see things that other people can´t, for some reason, though…
Pasto.

He´s made fun of by everybody else for his devout, conservative way of life and his way of speak-diddly-eaking, but Ned is truly lovable, and is the best neighbour anyone could wish to have.
San Gil.

She may be small, but that doesn´t stop her getting her fill of adrenalin. Kind of fitting for Colombia´s extreme sport capital., that´s always punching above its weight.
Well, there you go. These are my picks. Any thoughts? Have I got them completely wrong, or do you kind of agree? Any more that you can think of? Let us know, neighbour!
