We know that the internet and blogging and social media are changing our lives. The way we interact, the way we work and the way we socialise has all changed completely. Rarely, however, do these things affect us quite as directly as they affected Nicole Culverhouse last year.

Nicole was born in a remote part of Bogotá (Bosa) but was kidnapped when she was just 4 years old. She was subsequently adopted by a loving family in the USA, where she was brought up. She wasn’t given any details of her past life and lived for over almost 40 years without any knowledge of her biological family. That was until she got in touch with us at See Colombia Travel, and using our blog and social media platforms, we helped pave the way from the USA to her family in Bosa (via Venezuela) and reunited the family.

It looked impossible, but with a bit of luck, a lot of hard work and a whole load of help from our online connections, we did it. We brought Nicole back together with her mum for the first time in over 30 years, and it remains one of our proudest moments as a company.
