I have been a frequent traveller to Africa, India and Asia for the last 25 years and I relish the opportunity to travel to new and exciting destinations. I was looking for a new place to visit having exhausted the rich variety of options in these regions. I wanted to try a somewhat new destination and, after doing research and reading an article in a British newspaper about how it retained a distinctive air of authenticity, I decided upon Colombia. Being an independent female traveller I found See Colombia Travel’s service to be absolutely fantastic and they helped to clear up some of my lingering doubts and fears. Marcela, the manager, helped me greatly by suggesting destinations, activities and hotels that we both decided would suit me and my needs. I loved what we came up with (I say “we” because she insisted in saying that we built the itinerary together!). I spent 12 unforgettable days around the country, in Bogotá (a surprisingly lovely city), Villa de Leyva, The Coffee Zone, Medellin and Cartagena, where Marcela personally joined me and generously served as my guide. During my  Colombia Holidays I came to find the people there are incredibly warm and gracious and so it’s with full confidence that I can say thank you to See Colombia Travel for their characteristically Colombian kindness, and for providing such a trouble free vacation. I will certainly return to Colombia thanks to the enthused recommendations of further places to visit I received from locals and travellers alike. I’m pleased to say that after all her help, I consider Marcela a personal friend, I only hope she returns to the UK one day so I can show her the same kindness and hospitality that she has shown me.

I visited Colombia briefly many years ago and always wanted to come back. After reading how safety has improved in the country in the last years, I decided to give it a try and booked my 7 day trip with See Colombia. I can only thank Marcela and See Colombia Travel for such a wonderful experience, their kindness and flawless service. I now have made Colombia a travel destination and certainly I have fallen in love with it. I experienced in person why Colombians are described nowadays as the “happiest people on earth” and also got to know the great amount and diversity of Colombia’s marvelous geography.Now I will not change my image of the country for any other. I simply enjoyed the culture, the music and the hospitality of its people and the great wonderful variety of places to be discovered by any eager adventurous traveler as me.

In October 2010 two friends from Australia and I decided to book a tour through See Colombia Travel, after reading very positive things about the company on line and  because we felt a little unsure about travelling through Colombia without any guidance. I got in touch with Ingrid and she  suggested some itineraries based on what we wanted out of the holiday (sun, beach, tropical paradise and some salsa!), and we decided on a 2 week trip along the Caribbean coast from Cartagena all the way up to the northernmost tip of Colombia all starting from the capital, Bogota… See Colombia took care of everything, sorted us out with a mini van and an awesome driver/guide, booked all the accommodation and planned daily events to minute detail. For the entire two weeks my friends and I just kicked back and enjoyed everything without any of the hassle of travelling solo. We cruised the coast, and our guide Gonzalo  found us the best beaches, the best parties (in Cartagena & Santa Marta) and the nicest accommodation around. It´s hard to say what my favourite part of the trip was – I think maybe staying in the amazing tropical paradise of Parque Tayrona or walking around the old colonial part of Cartagena, or maybe stretching out in hammocks on the beach up at El Cabo de la Vela. The trip was fantastic, everything was taken care of by See Colombia and we now consider Gonzalo  a good friend, as well as other friendly locals we met on the way. I totally recommend See Colombia Travel to anyone considering a trip in what I think is probably the most beautiful country in South America.
