Day 1 & 2 - January 17 & 18. Bogota & Bogota - Ibague
Upon arrival one of See Colombia Travel´s representatives will be on hand to transfer you to your chosen hotel where you can relax and prepare for your upcoming adventure with us. The following early morning, transfer to the bus terminal for your journey across Colombia. Upon arrival in Neiva land transfer to the town of Juntas at the Conveima canion (1 hr) where you´ll spend the night in a local posada. Free time for lunch. Meals: B.
Day 3 to 6 - January 19 to 22. Conveima - Nevados National Park
During the next 4 days you´ll cross the amazing Andes.
Day 3: 5 to 6 hour uphill walk to Las Nieves. Meals: B, L, D. Accommodation: Campsite
Day 4: 6 hr walk to the canion´s hot springs. Meals: B, L, D. Accommodation: Campsite
Day 5: 6 hr walk through Valle del Placer to Paramo Remorales. Meals: B, L, D. Accommodation: Bed in local house (very basic)
Day 6: 6 to 7 hour walk towards Cocora Valley. Upon arrival transfer in jeeps Willies to Salento where you´ll spend the night in a local hostel. Meals: B, L. Accommodation: Hostel
Day 7 - January 23. Salento
Enjoy a free day to rest and to drink one of the best Colombian coffees at the famous Jesus Martin coffee shop in Salento. Meals: B.
Day 8 - January 24. Salento - Armenia - Neiva - Tatacoa Desert
At the chosen time transfer to the airport in Armenia for your flight to Neiva. Upon arrival transfer to the Tatacoa Desert ( 1hrs aprox.). on the way we visit the town of Villavieja, Piedra Pintada and the Paleontology museum. Meals: B.
Day 9 - January 25. Tatacoa Desert
You’ll walk among the red landscapes of the desert, amazed by the vibrant oranges and reds that define the area. You will also get to visit the observation tower to take a look at the clear stars that fill the sky. Meals: B.
Day 10 - January 26. Tatacoa - Neiva - San Agustin
At the chosen time land transfer to Neiva and your chosen hotel in San Agustin (5 hours). Meals: B.
Day 11 - January 27. San Agustin
At the prearranged time transfer to San Agustin Archaeological Park named a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1995. During your time at the park we’ll have the chance to visit the archaeological museum, the ceremonial fountain “Lavapatas” and sites (mesitas) A, B, C and D. After lunch we’ll visit the sites of “El Tablon” y “La Chaquira” horseback riding through the spectacular Andean countryside. Meals: B.
Day 12 - January 28. Isnos
After breakfast we will head toward the town of Isnos to see the strait of the Magdalena River and the second most important archaeological site in the area – the Alto de Los Idolos Archaeological Park, home to the second largest statue around San Agustin. We’ll then visit the tombs located in Alto de Las Piedras. Afterwards we will appreciate the natural beauty of this region by visiting two spectacular waterfalls. Meals: B.
Day 13 - January 29. San Agustin - Neiva - Bogota
Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Andes as you leave San Agustin. At the chosen to time land transfer to Neiva´s airport for your flight back to Bogota. Upon arrival transfer to your chosen hotel. Meals: B.
Day 14 & 15 - January 30 & 31. Bogota. Free days
Free days to enjoy the city. Enjoy Colombia’s dynamic, vibrant capital. Wander the colonial streets of La Candelaria and discover the fantastic museums housed there, rub shoulders with Bogotanos in the bars of Zona T and sample some of the finest Colombian and international cuisine in Zona G. Meals: B.
Day 16 - February 1. Bogota - home
At the chosen time you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home. Of course, if 16 days just isn’t enough time in Colombia, our tours are 100% customizable and we´d be happy to extend your stay with us. Just ask for more details.
