Day X. Santa Marta - Sierra Nevada. Bird watching
Today you will be picked up at 5am to go bird watching in the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta. During the course of the early morning hours we will try and see some of the 23 species of endemic birds living amongst the tropical coffee forests, under natural shade and among crystal waterfalls.
You’ll stay in the Minca EcoHabs, built in the traditional way of the Kogis surrounded by the beautiful nature of the Sierra Nevada. From this base there are 3 principal trails and various smaller ones that can be taken to go birdwatching, each varying in difficulty.
