Colombia is a country of dizzying variety. This tour will introduce you to the fascinating blend of adventures offered within Colombia’s borders. You’ll see some of Colombia’s most important cities, such as the enchanting city of Cartagena. You’ll also have the opportunity to see one of Colombia’s less travelled destination, Coveñas. You will wander the desolate beaches of Tayrona and Palomino, where palm trees sway in the breeze and turquoise waters lap the golden Caribbean shores. Day 1 - January 25 . Cartagena - Coveñas
At the chosen time transfer from Cartagena´s airport to Coveñas (4 to 5 hours aprox) and to your chosen hotel where you can have dinner, relax and prepare for the rest of your adventure. Meals: B, D.
Day 2 - January 26. Coveñas. Caimanera Mangrove
At the chosen time you will be transferred to the Caimanera Mangrove. During your time there you´ll witness one of the most amazing ecosystems in Colombia. Home of thousands of crabs and endemic species the Caimanera Mangrove is one of Colombia best kept secrets. You´ll have the chance to swim in calm waters and go through mangrove natural tunnels. The rest of day is free to enjoy the beach. Meals: B, D.
Day 3 - January 27. Coveñas. San Bernardo Islads
Today you will be picked up at 7:30am from your hotel and transferred to the port where you will board the boat that will take you to the San Bernardo Islands. The journey takes approximately 45 min; during this time you will see some of the islands that form the San Bernardo Archipelago including the world´s most populated island, Santa Cruz. Spend the day snorkeling, diving or just relaxing on the beach. Meals: B, L, D.
Day 4 - January 28. Coveñas. Free day
Today is free to enjoy the beach. Meals: B, D.
Day 5 - January 29. Coveñas - Cartagena
At the chosen time land transfer from your hotel to Cartagena. Upon arrival in Cartagena transfer to your chosen hotel Meals: B.
Day 6 - January 30. Cartagena. City Tour
Our Cartagena City Tour will take approximately four hours. We begin the tour with a visit to Cerro de la Popa, a cloister built on top of a hill that dominates the entire urban complex. Following this we will see the oldest church in the city, San Pedro Claver. Finding ourselves in the famous Old City, we will visit Plaza Bolivar, Bobedas and the Bocagrande Panoramic. The Old City retains all the charm of the colonial days, its narrow, cobbled streets flanked by charming balconies and traditional wooden doors. We will finish in the commercial centre of Cartagena, Pierino Gallo, for some shopping. Your afternoon will be free to enjoy the city at your leisure. Includes entrances to La Popa Monastery, San Pedro Claver Church and San Felipe Fort. Meals: B.
Day 7 - January 31. Cartagena. Free day
Free day to enjoy the beautiful city of Cartagena and its coble stone streets within the walled city. Meals: B.
Day 8 - February 1. Cartagena - Palomino
At the chosen time land transfer to Palomino, one of the highlights of this tour. During your stay you will have visit the Tayrona area where the jungle meets the Caribbean. In the afternoon, feel free to indulge yourselves in a spa treatment. Meals: D.
Day 9 & 10 - February 2 & 3. Playa La Roca EcoHotel - Tayrona
During the next two days enjoy and relax by the sea, sunning yourself and reflecting upon your wonderful journey on one of Colombia’s most beautiful beaches.
You will spend your first whole day in on of the many beaches at the Tayrona National Park (entrance fee included).
The next day, as optional activities, you’ll be taken for a beautiful hike to a waterfall in the morning. Then, after lunch, you could take a trail to the mouth of the Palomino River or just relax into a hammock with a good book.
Time permiting, you will have the wonderful opportunity to go visit a village of the Kogi, descendants of the Tayrona. Here you will have the chance to see how the traditions of the Tayrona people are still present in the everyday lives of the Kogi (optional).
For your free time at the Eco-Hotel you have option to relax in a hammock with a book, visit the Valencia River, relax at the beach, or indulge in one of their many spa treatments (including chocotherapy!). Meals: B, L, D on all days.
Day 11 - February 4. Tayrona - Santa Marta - Cartagena.
At the chosen time you will be transferred by land to Cartagena (approximately 5 hours). Upon arrival you will be transferred to your chosen hotel where you can relax in the Caribbean breeze. Meals: B.
Day 12 - February 5. Cartagena. Free Days
Free days to enjoy the city. Get lost in the many plazas, meander through the cobble stone streets and be enchanted by Cartagena’s rich architecture and overwhelming history. As the sunsets, have a drink on top of the old wall watching the sun go down on the Caribbean. Meals: B.
Day 13 - February 6. Cartagena - Home.
At the chosen time transfer to the airport for your flight back to the United States.
