Day 1 . Bogota

Upon arrival one of See Colombia Travel´s representatives will be on hand to transfer you to your chosen hotel where you can prepare for your upcoming adventure with us.

Day 2. Bogota - City Tour

This is a six-hour excursion that visits the colonial area of La Candelaria, the historical center of the city. It is in the oldest part of the capital, where you’ll find museums, restaurants and cultural institutions. Afterwards we visit the Bolívar Square at the heart of the city and surrounded by buildings of various styles and from various periods, such as the Cathedral, the Chapel of El Sagrario, the Cardinal’s Palace and the Capitolio or Congress Building. Behind the latter is the Nariño Palace, home of the president.  We continue to the Quinta de Bolívar. Once a colonial mansion of great architectural value, it is now converted into a museum that houses documents and objects that belonged to Simón Bolívar.  Afterwards we will go to the Gold Museum (closed on Mondays), where we will find a collection of more than 36,000 pieces of pre-Columbian manufacture; being the only display of its kind in the world. Finally, we will take a cable car to visit Monserrate for a fantastic view of the city.

Day 3. Bogota - Free Day

Free day to enjoy the city. Enjoy Colombia’s dynamic, vibrant capital. Wander the colonial streets of La Candelaria and discover the fantastic museums housed there, rub shoulders with Bogotanos in the bars of Zona T and sample some of the finest Colombian and international cuisine in Zona G.

Day 4 - June 25. Bogota – Armenia

Early departure towards the Coffe Triangle. 8 hrs land transfer across Colombia. Amazing scenery through the Andes.  During your time at the Coffee Triangle you’ll stay in a traditional coffee farm (finca) which features colourful, traditional balconies, mud ceiling tiles and a fresh cup coffee (tinto) always available.

Day 5. Cocora Valley

At the prearranged time the expedition begins, heading to Salento and the Cocora Valley. It holds within it a colonial and historic past, as you will see as you walk amongst the unique landscapes, observing the flowing clear water of the Quindio River, and the unique palm of wax the national tree.
Salento and in general the Coffee Triangle, has one of the richest coffee cultures and most scenic coffee crops. It has preserved its colonial architecture and the customs of the local country people. You will get the chance to ride on a traditional Jippao … expand.

Day 6. Free day

Today enjoy a free day by the pool or relaxing on a hammock.

Optional activities: Coffee experience tour, Rafting, Mariposario, Horseback riding

Day 7. Armenia - Medellin

At the chosen time land transfer through the colorful Autopista del Cafe (Coffee Motorway) to Medellin and our hotel where you can relax and prepare for your upcoming adventure with us.

Day 8. Medellin – Oriente & Guatape

This tour will begin with a visit to Peñol Rock, which is one of the most interesting natural attractions in Colombia. Then we will visit the village of Guatape, famous for the details of the homes and the Peñol-Guatape reservoir. As an optional activity, take a little tour of the reservoir in a boat, go to the top of Peñol Rock, take the cable car or simply enjoy the artisan craft stalls and the life next to the water (optional activites not included). Around noon we will visit Rionegro. Here we will eat lunch (not included) and then visit San Antonio de Pereira, which is famous for its desserts. The tour continues on the street of trees and onward to the entrance to Tutucán. After leaving Tutucán, we will stop at the touristic inn called El Tequendamita. Afterward, we will visit Retiro to learn about the traditional production of timber. We will end our tour admiring the beautiful scenery surrounding the Dam of Faith.

Day 9. Medellin. Free Day

Free day to enjoy the city. Go shopping in Medellin’s famous shopping centres, or wander Medellin’s streets to enjoy the beautiful weather. For the adventurous, you can head out of the city to one of the many natural attractions such as Guatape, where you’ll find stunning views of the surrounding lakes.

Optional activities: Santa Fe de Antioquia tour, Jardin tour

Day 10. Medellin - Santa Marta

At the chosen time transfer to the airport. Upon arrival in Santa Marta land transfer to Palomino and the long awaited Caribbean.

Day 11 & 12. Playa La Roca EcoHotel - Tayrona

During the next two days enjoy and relax by the sea, sunning yourself and reflecting upon your wonderful journey on one of Colombia’s most beautiful beaches.

On day one, we´ll visit the Tayrona National Park’s most unforgettable beaches and unmissable sites. Tayrona National Park  is a great place for nature-lovers and beach-lovers alike. Important archaeological sites and beaches we’ll see include: Calabazo, Pueblito, Cape San Juan, La Piscina (natural swimming pool), Arrecifes and Cañaveral.

As an optional activity, you’ll be taken for a beautiful hike to a waterfall in the morning. Then, after lunch, you could take a trail to the mouth of the Palomino River or just relax into a hammock with a good book.

Optionally, you will have the wonderful opportunity to go visit a village of the Kogi, descendants of the Tayrona. Here you will have the chance to see how the traditions of the Tayrona people are still present in the everyday lives of the Kogi.

Day 13. Palomino - Santa Marta - Mompos

At the chosen time you will be transferred by land to Mompos (approximately 7 – 8 hours). Meals: B.

Day 14. Mompox

Spent a free day7s and discover this unique hidden gem of Colombia, the hart of Marquez´s “Magical Realism”. You can, as optional activities, take a walking tour or handmade jewelry tour or a birdwatching tour.

Optional activities: Magdalena/Wetlands river boat ride,  walking tour, philigrane shopping tour, birdwatching

Day 15. Mompox - Cartagena.

At the chosen time, get ready for your transfer back to Cartagena and chosen hotel (aprox 6 hrs).

Day 16 & 17. Cartagena. Free days

Free days to enjoy the beautiful city of Cartagena and its coble stone streets within the walled city. As an optional activity, visit the Rosario Islands or the Mangrove.

Optional Activities:  Rosario Islands, Zegway tour, mud volcano, chiva party bus tour, kitesurfing

Day 18. Cartagena - Home.

End of our services.  Of course, if 18 days just isn´t enough time in Colombia and you want to  extend your stay with us, just ask for extension plans .
