Colombia is a country of dizzying variety. This tour will introduce you to the fascinating blend of adventures offered within Colombia’s borders. You’ll see some of Colombia’s most important cites, such as bustling Bogotá, modern Medellin, and quaint Coffee Triangle. You will be introduced to the unique landscapes and colours of the the Colombian Andes and the Coffee Region, home to Colombia’s national tree, the wax palm. You can learn how Colombian coffee is made, from picking the very first beans to pouring the perfect cup. All this and much, much more on your trip to Colombia with See Colombia Travel.

Day 1 - December 21. Bogota – Armenia

Upon arrival in Armenia, you will transfer to your specially chosen finca where you can relax in a unique way for your upcoming adventures.

Day 2 - December 22. Cocora Valley

At the prearranged time the expedition begins, heading to Salento and the Cocora Valley. It holds within it a colonial and historic past, as you will see as you walk amongst the unique landscapes, observing the flowing clear water of the Quindio River, and the unique palm of wax the national tree.
Salento and in general the Coffee Triangle, has one of the richest coffee cultures and most scenic coffee crops. It has preserved its colonial architecture and the customs of the local country people. Furthermore, it’s an ideal site for hiking or horseback rides followed by a meal of exquisite trout, the prized local dish. Horseback riding included. Meals: B.

Day 3 - December 23. Canopy - Enchanted Forrest

Upon arrival to Montenegro, you’ll be greeted by our experienced guides  for a brief about your safety equipment, and instructions for your ride in the air. This fabulous circuit is made up of 16 platforms with 10 lines over coffee plantations and small streams. You’ll fly over a unique nature reserve inhabited by squirrels,  sloths and birds of various species, making it an exciting adventure full of adrenaline. The Canopy not only offers a great adventure but  an opportunity to observe the fascinating flora of this region and wildlife in its natural habitat. On each platform the adventurers have the opportunity to observe the forest from different angles and photograph the stunning scenery. Meals: B.

Day 4 - December 24. White Water Rafting - Barragan River

Today you’ll have the chance to raft down Barragan River. You’ll be picked up from your Finca and driven to Rancho California where you’ll be briefed about the details of this activity and provided with all required equipment. From there we will head to our departure point for our upcoming adventure of 8.5 ks of unique flora and fauna down the Barragan River. Meals: B.

Day 5 - December 25. Las Aguilas - Nevados National Park

At the pre arranged time, transfer to the Los Nevados Natural Reserve. On the way we will stop a few times in order to acclimatize to the altitude before arriving to the Laguna Negra (the Black Lake). There we’ll meet an expert guide that will assist us in our climb to the Nevados. On the way we’ll walk past the “Aguacerales” and The Valley of the Moon. We will take a break at the Chalet, where we’ll stop for some hot tea and a briefing of what is next. Then we will continue hiking to the second shelter, which is where we’ll start our final ascent to the glacier. During the hike you will have free time to enjoy the park and its beautiful scenery. Later, at the prearranged time, we will start heading back to our hotel. But not before stopping at the hot springs for a well deserved dip in the natural thermal pools! Meals: B.

Day 6 - December 26. Armenia - Free day

Free day to relax by the pool or explore the area a bit more. Meals: B.

Day 7 - December 27. Armenia - Medellin

At the chosen time land transfer through the colorful Autopista del Cafe (Coffee Motorway) to Medellin  where on of See Colombia Travel´s representatives will be on hand to transfer you to your chosen hotel where you can relax and prepare for your upcoming adventure with us. Meals: B.

Day 8 & 9 - December 28 & 29. Medellin - Jardin

Today you are embarking on your journey to Jardin, the Alto de Las Flores waterfall and the Splendor Cave. After breakfast, we will depart on horseback toward Alto de Las Flores, where we will stop to take photos and leave the horses. From here we will walk for approximately 30 minutes to the cave. After having time to explore the Spendor Cave, we will return the same way we came. Upon our return to the house where the horses were left, we will have the option to go to a coffee farm to experience the process of producing coffee. Overnight in Jardin at the end of the day’s activities. Tomorrow is a free day to explore this beautiful colonial town. Meals: B.

Day 10 - December 30. Jardin - Medellin

At the chosen time, land transfer back to Medellin. Tonight would be the perfect time to go for for a walk by the river to see the wonderful and famous Christmas Lights. Meals: B.

Day 11 - December 31. Medellin – Oriente & Guatape

This tour will begin with a visit to Peñol Rock, which is one of the most interesting natural attractions in Colombia. Then we will visit the village of Guatape, famous for the details of the homes and the Peñol-Guatape reservoir. As an optional activity, take a little tour of the reservoir in a boat, go to the top of Peñol Rock, take the cable car or simply enjoy the artisan craft stalls and the life next to the water (optional activites not included). Around noon we will visit Rionegro. Here we will eat lunch (not included) and then visit San Antonio de Pereira, which is famous for its desserts. The tour continues on the street of trees and onward to the entrance to Tutucán. After leaving Tutucán, we will stop at the touristic inn called El Tequendamita. Afterward, we will visit Retiro to learn about the traditional production of timber. We will end our tour admiring the beautiful scenery surrounding the Dam of Faith. Meals: B.

Day 12 - January 1. Medellin - Home.

At the chosen time you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home. All good things must come to an end, after all. Of course, if 12 days just isn´t enough time in Colombia, our tours are 100% customizable and we´d be happy to extend your stay with us. Just ask for more details. Meals: B.
