Colombia is a country of dizzying variety. This tour will introduce you to the fascinating blend of adventures offered within Colombia’s borders. Tayrona National Park really has to be seen to be believed. A haven of golden sands, wild jungles and untamed seas, it’s a traveler’s dream and one that, fortunately for those in the know, remains firmly off the beaten track. On a short break to Tayrona you can stay in the luxury ecohabs there (complete with relaxing spa options), in the beautiful cabañas or in a hammock; each option feels distinctly like paradise as the sound of wildlife and the sea lapping against the ocean is all you can hear at night time. You’ll enjoy walking along the near-deserted beaches, seeing the unbelievable rock formations that punctuate the horizon, and the stunning mountainscapes that are dense with jungle. Day 1 - February 25. Cartagena - Santa Marta - Tayrona
At the chosen time, land transfer to Santa Marta and Tayrona National Park (about 7 hours) where you will spend the night. Upon arrival at the park you will have to walk for over 40 min to get to the hammocks area (Cañaveral) where you´ll check in. If you choose not to walk you can find horses for hire (not included – COL$18.000 per horse each way) at the entrance.
Day 2 to 4 - February 26 to 28. Tayrona National Park
During the next few days you have the option to walk through Tayrona National Park’s most unforgettable beaches and unmissable sites. Tayrona National Park is where the Colombian jungle meets the Caribbean, and is a great place for nature-lovers and beach-lovers alike. Important archaeological sites and beaches we’ll see include: Calabazo, Pueblito, Cape San Juan, La Piscina (natural swimming pool), Arrecifes and Cañaveral.
Day 5 - March 1. Tayrona National Park - Santa Marta - Bogota
Please allow at least an hour for your walk to the park entrance. At the chosen time you will be transferred to the airport in Santa Marta or back to Cartagena by land transfer.
