You will be picked up from your hotel and taken to a coffee farm just outside of Bogotá in a town called Fusagasuga. Here a guide will take you on a tour of the finca where you will learn about the coffee-making process and enjoy and freshly brewed cup of coffee. Return to your hotel. Meals. B.

The tour starts at main trading center of the world’s largest emeralds right in the city center. Guided by local professional staff with more than 20 years of experience in this area, you´ll learn the history, mining process and trade and how to recognize an original emerald from a fake one. You will get the chance to visit the restricted access areas within the Emerald Trade Center and will have direct contact with the real emerald traders in the informal and formal guild.

During the tour you´ll be able to see real emeralds of high value while the guide will keep explaining the internal and external features that will help you recognize original emeralds.  The visit will continue with a visit to the only Center of Technological Development in Colombia (CDTEC), place where you´ll be taught the physical and chemical characteristics of an emerald by specialized gemologists whom dedicate their lives to emerald research and certification. Return to your hotel.
