Colombia is a country of dizzying variety. This tour will introduce you to the fascinating blend of adventures offered within Colombia’s borders. You’ll see one of Colombia’s most important cites, such as modern Medellin. You will get the chance to see some of Colombia’s diverse, fascinating wildlife, exploring the Colombian Amazon and learning more about the indigenous tribes that have lived in this area. Seeing such a biologically rich face of Colombia will leave you awestruck by the country’s diversity. In addition to the suggested itinerary, it’s possible to go night kayaking (and more) which comes highly recommended. All this and much, much more on your trip to Colombia with See Colombia Travel.

Day 1 - February 10. Medellin

Upon arrival to Medellin,  one of See Colombia Travel´s representatives will be on hand to transfer you to your chosen hotel where you can relax and prepare for your upcoming adventure with us.

Day 2 - February 11. Medellin. Free day - City Tour (OPTIONAL - NOT INCLUDED)

Enjoy a free day in Medellin, the city of the eternal spring. As an optional activity you can take a 5 hour trip, that uncovers the roots of Medellín and its most iconic symbols, such as the “Pueblito Paisa”, the Intelligent Building, the Plaza Mayor, the Administrative Center of La Alpujarra and Carabobo street. We will travel in the “Metro Cable”, a massive transportation system unique to the city, and visit of the España Library Park and its distinctive architectural structure. Meals: B.

Day 3 - February 12. Medellin – Oriente & Guatape

This tour will begin with a visit to Peñol Rock, which is one of the most interesting natural attractions in Colombia. Then we will visit the village of Guatape, famous for the details of the homes and the Peñol-Guatape reservoir. As an optional activity, take a little tour of the reservoir in a boat, go to the top of Peñol Rock, take the cable car or simply enjoy the artisan craft stalls and the life next to the water (optional activites not included). Around noon we will visit Rionegro. Here we will eat lunch (not included) and then visit San Antonio de Pereira, which is famous for its desserts. The tour continues on the street of trees and onward to the entrance to Tutucán. After leaving Tutucán, we will stop at the touristic inn called El Tequendamita. Afterward, we will visit Retiro to learn about the traditional production of timber. We will end our tour admiring the beautiful scenery surrounding the Dam of Faith. Meals: B.

Day 4 - February 13. Medellin. Free Day

Another free day to enjoy the city. Go shopping in Medellin’s famous shopping centres, or wander Medellin’s streets to enjoy the beautiful weather. For the adventurous, you can head out of the city to one of the many natural attractions such as Santa Fe de Antioquia, where you’ll find stunning views and learn about Colombia´s colonial history. Meals: B.

Day 5 & 6 - February 14 & 15. Bogota - Leticia - Floating House

At the chosen time transfer to the airport. Upon arrival to Leticia you’ll transfer to the port for your 15 min boat ride on the Amazon River to Kurupira’s amazing floating house. The following day  you’ll visit the Victoria Regia, the world’s largest waterlily and the “Estrangulador” forest. To end the day you’ll return to the floating house where you’ll have a delicious dinner and spend the night. Meal: D.

Day 7 - February 16. Amazon

A spectacular Amazonian sunrise will be the perfect way to wake up. After breakfast you’ll enjoy a boat ride (aprox 1.5hrs) on the Amazon River on the way to the “Isla de los Micos” (Monkey Island). You’ll also visit the native community of Puerto Alegria where you will also have lunch. After your visit you’ll head back to the Floating House, lead by the utterly unique pink dolphins in the river. Meals: B,L,D.

Day 8 - February 17. Amazon

After breakfast we’ll visit the “Isla de la Fantasia” and “La Milagrosa”, where we’ll meet the locals and their farms to get an insight into their fascinating culture. After lunch back at the Floating House, we’ll have some free time to relax on a hammock enjoying the relaxing Amazonian breeze. During the afternoon we’ll navigate the Amazon River towards the city of Leticia for a city tour, before returning to the Floating House for dinner. As an optional activity you can go on an unforgettable Alligator and Nightlife Watching trip. Meals: B,L,D.

Day 9 - February 18. Leticia - home

At the chosen time you will be transferred to Leticia’s  airport for your flight back to Bogota. All good things must come to an end, after all. Of course, if 9 days just isn’t enough time in Colombia, our tours are 100% customizable and we´d be happy to extend your stay with us. Just ask for more details. Meals: B.
