Depending on how you look at it, COP$1,000 can go a very long way… Or barely get you anything at all. As Marina A. Assaedi points out, it won’t get you even a bus ride in Colombia, and, yet, it can buy you 3 cups of coffee if you know where to look.
With this strange fixture of Colombian economics in mind, we thought we’d put it to Twitter and Facebook to find out just what can you buy with $1,000COL?
You could buy a bonbonbum
A carrot, 1 lb of potato, one onion and a small tomato OR 2 chicken wings OR a tinto and a piece of bread
A delicious Chocoramo!
You can have lunch for $1,000!
2 Malboro Lights and 2 Halls sweets
A chocolate Jet
Trocipollos!!!
Fizzy apple juice… A bar of Milo…
5 minutes on the phone bought from a woman selling chiglets (or 4 minutes and some chiglets).
Some Chicken SuperRicas with a Ponymalta 😉
Walk in the center and eat hamburgers for – ‘how much?!’ – One thousand! For just $1,000!
Eggs, rice, bread and Coca Cola!
A delicious Colombian coffee
Any more suggestions of course leave them in the comments, on our Twitter or on our Facebook.

I’m going to buy me $1,000 worth of treats!
