Colombia is a country of dizzying variety. This tour will introduce you to the fascinating blend of adventures offered within Colombia’s borders. You’ll see some of Colombia’s most important cites, such as bustling Bogotá, the enchanting city of Cartagena,  and the colonial Villa de Leyva. You will be introduced to the unique landscapes and colours of the the Colombian Caribbean, you will wander the desolate beaches of Tayrona National Park, where palm trees sway in the breeze and turquoise waters lap the golden Caribbean shores. All this and much, much more on your trip to Colombia with See Colombia Travel.

Day 1 - December 22. Bogota

Upon arrival one of See Colombia Travel´s representatives will be on hand to transfer you to your chosen hotel where you can prepare for your upcoming adventure with us.

Day 2 - December 23. Bogota - Suesca - Villa de Leyva

Departure towards Villa de Leyva. On the way we will stop in Suesca for a morning climb on one of the most popular rock climbing site near Bogota. You´ll enjoy the amazing scenery of the Bogota sabanah. After lunch (not included) we continue on our way to Villa de Leyva. Meals: B.

Day 3 - December 24. Villa de Leyva. Desert and Half day city tour

During the morning you´ll be taken for a visit to the desert with amazing red soil formations home of some of the oldest fossils found in the area. After lunch (not included),  we take a  guided walking tour  through the Ricaurte Square, also known as San Agustin Square and continues to the house of Antonio Nariño, who was a journalist, politician, and militant. He played an important role in the independence of the country. The visit continues through the Main Square. Covering over 14000m², it is the biggest square in Colombia. There you will see the notorious Cathedral, and the facade of what used to be the house of Luis Alberto Acuña, a painter, sculptor, and Colombian historian who transformed it into a museum. The tour ends with a visit to the church of El Carmen and its surrounding park. Meals: B.

Day 4 - December 25. Villa de Leyva – San Gil - Barichara

After an early breakfast, we will star heading north on our way to San Gil and Barichara. In the afternoon, take an optional rafting trip through the Fonce river (not included). Meals: B.

Day 5 - December 26. Barichara

Today you´ll be taken for a hike through the Camino Real between Barichara and Guane. This road that dates back to the time of the Guane – local indigenous people – was rebuilt by the German George von Lenguerke in 1864. This 9.5 k coble stone path once used as the only road between Giron and the Magdalena River is now an historical hidden secret full of magic and amazing scenery. Return to the hotel. Meals: B.

Day 6 - December 27. Barichara - Santa Marta - Palomino

At the chosen time private transfer to San Gil,  Santa Marta and Palomino where you´ll spend the firist night at the Colombian ceribbean. Meals: B.

Day 7 & 8 - December 28 & 29. Playa La Roca EcoHotel - Tayrona

During the next two days enjoy and relax by the sea, sunning yourself and reflecting upon your wonderful journey on one of Colombia’s most beautiful beaches.

The first day is free to recuperate from a long journey from Barichara. As an optional activity, you’ll be taken for a beautiful hike to a waterfall in the morning. Then, after lunch, you could take a trail to the mouth of the Palomino River or just relax into a hammock with a good book. Optionally, you will have the wonderful opportunity to go visit a village of the Kogi, descendants of the Tayrona. Here you will have the chance to see how the traditions of the Tayrona people are still present in the everyday lives of the Kogi.

On day 2 of your stay at Palomino, you will spend the whole day in on of the many beaches at the Tayrona National Park (entrance fee included). Meals: B, L, D on all days.

Day 9 - December 30. Palomino - Santa Marta - Cartagena

At the chosen time land transfer to Cartagena and your chosen hotel (about 7 hours). Meals: B.

Day 10 - December 31. Cartagena. Segway City Tour

Take an exciting look at this historical city from your own personal segway. You’ll have the chance to scoot around visiting the many beautiful sites of this colourful colonial city such as the gold museum, Las Bovedas, PLaza de la Proclamacion, the Cartagena cathedral and many more (entrances not included). Your afternoon is free to enjoy the city. Meals: Not included.

Day 11 - January 1. Cartagena - Tolu - Coveñas

At the chosen time transfer to Coveñas and a house on the beach.

Day 12 & 13 - January 2 & 3. Coveñas

During the next two days you have the option to walk through the beaches and visit some of the local sites. Spend the day snorkeling or diving in San Bernardo Islands, visit the Caimanera mangrove only 30 minutes away from Tolu or just relax on the beach. During your time in Coveñas you´ll have a house keeper that will clean and cook for you (groceries not included). Meals: Not included.

Day 14 - January 4. Coveñas - Monteria - Bogota

At the chosen time you will be transferred to Monteria for your flight to Bogota. Upon arrival, transfer to your chosen hotel (flight not included). Meals: Not included.

Day 15 - January 5. Bogota - Bike Tour and Ciclovia

At the chosen time you´ll be met at your hotel where you´ll be give your bike. The day will start by joining the Ciclovia towards La Candelartia where the bike your if Bogota will start. This tour allows you to discover the colorful history and culture of la Candelaria neighborhood, located in the historic center of Bogota. The tour is adjustable to suit various weather conditions and preferences. It enables you to visit the city in a more fun way, allowing a closer interaction between the visitor and Bogota. The tour starts at 10:30am and lasts for 3 to 5 hours, passing by the Plaza del Chorro, the Botero museum, the National Museum, Plaza Bolivar, local market plaza, central cemetery, Egipto Neighborhood, the Colombian National University, the Gabriel Garcia Marquez cultural center, the Bullfighting Stadium, when available, and many other interest sites. It is very flexible, so if you have suggestions feel free to mention them to the guide. Transfer back to the hotel. Meals: B.

Day 16 - January 6. Bogota - Home.

At the chosen time you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home. All good things must come to an end, after all. Of course, if 16 days just isn´t enough time in Colombia, our tours are 100% customizable and we´d be happy to extend your stay with us. Just ask for more details. Meals: B.
