The musical tapestry of Colombia is an incredibly rich and diverse one \u2013 reflective of the diverse cultures and peoples of Colombia. It is one of the many things I love about Colombia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

That tapestry is much more diverse than most people know about.<\/p>\n

New forms of Colombian music<\/h3>\n

Traditional forms of Colombian music, or the more popular mainstream ones, are well-known throughout the world:\u00a0\u00a0Salsa \u2013 Merengue \u2013 Cumbia \u2013 Vallenato – Reggaeton.\u00a0\u00a0There is also a long list of lesser known traditional Colombian music genres<\/a><\/strong>:\u00a0\u00a0Porro \u2013 Palenque \u2013 Champeta \u2013 Currulao \u2013Merecumbe.\u00a0\u00a0You will find all of those styles of music and more in Colombia \u2013 made and played by incredible artists.\u00a0\u00a0I love it all.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Colombian rock music, metal music, jazz music, reggae music, electronic music and more, can also be found.<\/p>\n

Importantly, what you will also find in Colombia (but just need to know to look) is contemporary Colombian music<\/strong> that doesn\u2019t fit into any of those neat musical genre boxes…Music with different flavours that combines a bit of this genre with a bit of that genre.<\/p>\n
