For a Colombian, though, this concept can be interpreted much, much more generously. Don&#8217;t understand what I&#8217;m garbling about? Well, look below, Gentle Reader&#8230;<\/p>\n<h2>1. No time to mess around. Above is a vision of pure ingenuity. In a brilliant example of what my Aus Lit Lecturer called &#8220;remotivation of symbols&#8221; (BA: finally! your time to shine&#8230;), this crafty lady (her face is hidden to ensure anonymity) has taken an object intended for <em>buying <\/em>things, and is now using it for <em>selling <\/em>things. What comes after postmodernism, again? <a href=\"http:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/2012\/05\/colombian-cuisine-paul-chris-eat-ants-among-other-things\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Todo Rico<\/a>, I reckon.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>2. Smart.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>\u00a03. The Bicycle.<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_8259\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8259\" style=\"width: 457px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/2013\/05\/top-5-colombian-interpretations-of-shops\/pastry-bike\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-8259\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-8259 \" src=\"https:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/pastry-bike.jpg\" alt=\"Because I want to ride it where I like. \" width=\"457\" height=\"507\" srcset=\"https:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/pastry-bike.jpg 653w, https:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/pastry-bike-270x300.jpg 270w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 457px) 100vw, 457px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-8259\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Because I want to ride it where I like.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Take a simple bicycle, and then make it Totes Amazeballs (<a href=\"http:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/2012\/12\/colombian-culture-adopt-a-hipster\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>not<\/em> a hipster, brah)<\/a>. That&#8217;s the philosophy behind this genre of Colombian &#8220;shops.&#8221; Here you can get your fill of pastries, but look out for the ones grilling up <a href=\"http:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/2012\/02\/arepas-love-them-or-hate-them-the-great-arepa-debate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">arepas<\/a> (if you&#8217;re into that kind of thing), or chicharones and plantain (delicious unnecessarily cancelled out by <a href=\"http:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/2012\/12\/food-in-colombia-the-plantain\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WHY?!?<\/a> in my humble opinion, but anyway).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>\u00a04. Joke.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So, when I got the idea for this post, my fellow Paul (what a name) told me I should find one of those guys that sells things from the boot of their car. Being the absolutely brilliant individual I undoubtedly am, I knew what he meant immediately: I&#8217;d seen those beat-up sedans selling underwear or fruit &#8211; sometimes, possibly, both &#8211; all around. However, when I was out taking these expertly-shot photos, I came across this little beauty, and couldn&#8217;t resist. I don&#8217;t even know what this guy&#8217;s selling, but he and his willy (grow up, kids!) were all about it. And, it&#8217;s a willy (a bit of maturity, thanks, guys). Instant shop!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>With my Australian eyes, I look at a stool, and think, &#8220;nice thing to sit on while at the bar.&#8221; This resourceful Colombian looked at the same stool, and thought &#8220;that&#8217;s a shop.&#8221; Sometimes, the right point of view is all you need.<\/p>\n<p>I could&#8217;ve added more, but that would go against the whole concept of a\u00a0 &#8220;Top 5,&#8221; now wouldn&#8217;t it?
