On a Wednesday in Bogot\u00e1 there\u2019s little doubt about where to go. Although the bars and pubs in Zona Rosa are invariably busy, most of those looking for something a little wilder will head into the city\u2019s centre to Quiebracanto for a night of drinking, dancing and a palpable potential for romance.<\/p>\n

The popularity of the club means that even those only living here in Bogot\u00e1 for a month or so will undoubtedly have been more than once having being told almost immediately that Wednesdays in Bogot\u00e1 are all about Quiebracanto. As such, it\u2019s the kind of place you go and bump into people you know as well as getting talking to strangers. Clearly, the atmosphere is a relaxed one, perhaps assisted by the COL$5,000 half-pint drinks that are pre-prepared for you, or the incredibly reasonable pricing of a pint of strong Cuba Libre (COL$10,000).<\/p>\n

It could, of course, just be that infamous warmth of Colombians that permeates throughout the old walls of the club, making foreigners feel not just welcome, but encouraged to try to avoid embarrassing themselves by joining in dancing with the skillful locals.<\/p>\n

The music is a consistent mix of latin-infused vibes with a strong influence from the States, known here largely as cross-over. This means you\u2019ll get a dose of reggaeton, hip-hop, modern salsa and plenty of R&B to shake your booty to.\u00a0So if you\u2019re looking for what\u2019s on in Bogot\u00e1<\/a> on Wednesday night but haven\u2019t asked any locals yet (undoubtedly they\u2019d tell you) then take our word for it and head to. Maybe just practice a little dancing in front of the mirror beforehand\u2026<\/p>\n
