Whether it takes months of preparation or is just a relaxed hike on the weekend, there is a sense of accomplishment and connection when you look out at the landscape in front of you and get that <em>I did it<\/em> feeling.<\/p>\n<p>Then you make your way back down, after the effort and energy you have put into the climb has\u00a0dissipated,\u00a0and you decide to settle in somewhere to refuel and talk about the adventures you\u2019ve just had. It it was this experience of taking refuge and shelter and chatting with fellow trekkers after a climb that was the inspiration for Mauricio and Francisco, who created <a title=\"Cafe de la Monta\u00f1a\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cafeycrepes.com\">Caf\u00e9 de la Monta\u00f1a<\/a> back in 1982.<\/p>\n<p>It is a restaurant, but upon walking in you feel like you have just come back from a climb or a trekking expedition. You\u2019re not here just to eat, you\u2019re here to talk about your adventures and to share stories.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5037\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5037\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/cafemonta\u00f1a2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5037\" title=\"Cafe de la Monta\u00f1a, Bogot\u00e1\" src=\"http:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/cafemonta\u00f1a2-e1349972383808.jpg\" alt=\"Cafe de la Monta\u00f1a, Bogot\u00e1\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5037\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cafe de la Monta\u00f1a, Bogot\u00e1<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Hiking boots, climbing photos and posters signed by important climbers decorate the quiet and dimly-lit restaurant, adding to the authentic feel of the place. A pair of boots sit near the door as if someone has just taken them off.<\/p>\n<p>During the day the caf\u00e9 is quiet and light, with students and couples hanging out over Chocolate Santafere\u00f1o ($13,900). At night, it\u2019s buzzing with groups of friends, families, dinner parties. Cafe de la Monta\u00f1a and their sister restaurant Cafe and Crepe&#8217;s specialize in crepes and they\u2019re deliciously simple and a good size. Well, there&#8217;s Caf\u00e9 de Monta\u00f1a\u2019s Carrera\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 26.666667938232422px;\">Diagonal 108A N\u00b0 8-11 ph: 214 5312 or there&#8217;s Cafe and Crepes on Carrera 1<\/span>6 N82-17 ph: 236 2688. And you don\u2019t have to have come back from a big day of climbing to appreciate the look and feel of these places, but it does make you want to get out there and start exploring. If you get inspired, there\u2019s a climbing gear shop across the road from the caf\u00e9 on Diagonal 108A.
