Colombia is a land of incredible diversity, where mountains jut up in the centre of cities and jungles line the bottoms of snow-capped mountains.<\/p>\n

There are few places in the world with such a dizzying mishmash of landscapes and wildlife, making travel to Colombia<\/a> an unforgettable experience (even if it’s unlikely you’ll manage to see it all in one trip).<\/p>\n

Here are 5 of our favorite natural wonders in Colombia:<\/p>\n

1. Cocora Valley<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Cocora Valley is like nothing you’ve ever seen in your life. Despite it being a photographer’s best friend, it’s also fair to say that photographs can’t really do it full justice. A must-visit when you come to Colombia since it’s the country’s most unique landscape, and an easy day-trip if you travel to Colombia’s Coffee Region<\/a>.<\/p>\n

2. Sierra Nevada El Cocuy<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Few people come to Colombia expecting to see snow-capped mountains, but at Sierra Nevada El Cocuy, that’s exactly what you’ll find. Experienced hikers can go right to the top, but for those of us without much practice, you can also explore the peaks of the lower surrounding mountains and enjoy incredible views.<\/p>\n

3. La Guajira<\/h2>\n

Though merely the most northern point of South America, La Guajira feels much like the end of the world. Beautiful landscapes abound, where red sands cascade into bright blue oceans. Unforgettable.<\/p>\n

4. Ca\u00f1o Cristales<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Known as the River of Seven Colours (no prizes for guessing why),\u00a0Ca\u00f1o Cristales is another of Colombia’s most unique areas. Though difficult to get to, you’re rewarded with one of nature’s many amazing spectacles, and a great opportunity for some slow-captue photos.<\/p>\n

5. The wildlife<\/strong><\/h2>\n

We couldn’t well do a post about natural wonders in Colombia without mentioning the wildlife. Colombia boasts more distinct species of birds and flora per square km than anywhere else in the world, which is not to mention the whales, monkeys, turtles, flamingos, pink dolphins, insects, fish and many more species that roam the wilds of Colombia.<\/p>\n

So these are our top 5, what else would you feature on the list? Undoubtedly there’s much more in Colombia that an avid nature traveler would enjoy discovering.<\/p>\n
