Urab\u00e1 is a subregion of Colombia, which contains 11 municipalities from the department of Antioquia and 4 from the department of Choc\u00f3, a combination of two departments that have cultural activities that you fall in love with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you come through the Medell\u00edn – Urab\u00e1 road, and you enter Urab\u00e1, you find a very special municipality due to its great diversity, Mutat\u00e1. First, you will find yourself in the middle of a giant jungle, from which you never think you will leave, then you are greeted by a plain and a clear and open sky: you arrived in Urab\u00e1.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Getting to Urab\u00e1 is easy, you can take a bus from the northern bus terminal of Medell\u00edn, which is at the Caribe Metro station, and say that you are going to Urab\u00e1, this tour is taking a little more time due to the construction of the Tunnel del Toya, around 8 or 9 hours. Or take a plane from Olaya Herrera Airport to Antonio Rold\u00e1n Betancur Airport in Carepa, it takes 45 minutes to arrive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, since you already know how to get there, I’m going to tell you about places where you can enjoy the sunsets that I mentioned and other things:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Rivers in Mutat\u00e1 and surroundings<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    There is nothing more refreshing in the Urab\u00e1 area than going into a river, as the climate is very hot and humid, so entering a river in an afternoon is a success. There are several options, such as the Mutat\u00e1 River, Piedras Blancas, Chontadural and Bed\u00f3<\/em>, among others, also in the Urab\u00e1 area, specifically in Mutat\u00e1 you will find different Ember\u00e1 Katio Indigenous settlements, you can learn more about their culture.<\/strong>

    If you plan to stay in Apartad\u00f3, these rivers are 1 hour and a half away by car. You can take buses or collectives to get to them. Go out in the morning with a good Colombian lunch, packed in a \u201cviao\u201d<\/em>, or make the famous \u201csancocho de gallina\u201d <\/em>next to the river. Finally, take several baths in very cold turquoise water and admire a green landscape full of life.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    PS: Most of the places in Urab\u00e1 are full of unspoiled nature, so you can find different species of many animals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    2. The Volcano in the totumo Arboletes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Another tourist attraction in the Antioquia area is the walk to ARBOLETES,<\/strong> either outside the gulf (about five and a half hours by boat from Turbo, or the same route by road), where there is an attraction: the mud volcano that rises to two hundred meters from the beach. It is really fun to float in the warm bubbles of mud that appear in the center of the crater, and then bathe in the sea.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3. Enjoy the sea<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In this municipality, where the most important port in the region is located, the waters of the Atrato River flow, throwing many sediments and debris (especially tree branches) onto its beaches. Towards the northern part near Necocl\u00ed there are quite unexplored areas, which are reached by boat and the support of expert guides.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The most popular are those of La Martina, Simona del Mar, Plata Dulce or El Cangrejo, El Waffe pier and the very mouth of the Atrato River.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Of the wide range of beaches that this town offers, those of Turista, Pescador, and Malec\u00f3n, in the urban area, and those of San Sebasti\u00e1n, Necocl\u00ed river, Casablanca, and El Totumo, in the rural sector stand out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The great landmark of this municipality, in the extreme north of Antioquia, on the border with C\u00f3rdoba, is the mud volcano, located 15 minutes from the municipal seat and on the seashore. The density of the mud allows people to float and swim on the surface. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Especially in the urban area, there are tourist beaches for the enjoyment of visitors and residents<\/strong>. Additionally, there is the Las Tinas spa, just four kilometers from the urban center. There is also the Hobo River Estuary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    SAN JUAN DE URAB\u00c1<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    This municipality has an area of \u200b\u200b239 square kilometers and the mighty San Juan River flows into its territory. Among the must-see spots are the Damaquiel Mangroves, located on the path of the same name. It is known as the second-largest virgin beach in Colombia, characterized by the delicacy of its sand and the mangrove trees.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    An island that emerges every so often is located there, an attraction to be discovered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
