When it comes to guidebooks for Colombia, Palin’s words couldn’t ring truer. Not only do Footprint bring their editions out before the competition (particularly well timed in this instance, since Colombia is benefitting from somewhat of a boom in terms of tourist numbers), but their dedication to in-depth research and factual reviews gives them legitimate claim to be best in the market for Colombia guidebooks.<\/p>\n

The 2012 edition of their Colombia handbook is comprehensive to say the least: over 400 pages of information covering almost every corner of the country. They list all different grades of restaurants, hotels and museums and, unlike other guidebooks, are distinctly unambiguous with their reviews. Honesty is a great asset the book has and is a theme close to our hearts, since a guidebook is not simply advertisement for a country. For standards to be raised within Colombia, there is a need for the travel industry to risk upsetting people in order to set a precedent. The fact that Footprint do draw attention to some of the negative aspects of travel also makes their positive words far more poignant. And there are many, many positive words said about Colombia.<\/p>\n

Blessed with such a variety of natural landscapes, from arid deserts and vast savannahs to snow-capped volcanoes and white-sand beaches, Colombia offers a staggering array of experiences.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
