Here\u2019s what to do\" href=\"http:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/2011\/12\/only-24-hours-in-bogota-heres-what-to-do-2\/\" target=\"_blank\">what to do when you only have 24 hours in Bogota<\/a>, and also about day trips from the big city. One fantastic option is Parque Natural Chicaque which, depending on the day, is just 30-60 minutes away.<\/p>\n<p>Parque Natural Chicaque is a cloud forest reserve that&#8217;s full of spectacular scenery and incredible wildlife (supposedly around 300 species of birds and animals). Although the trip is possible in 1 day, we&#8217;d recommend, if time allows, to take two.<\/p>\n<p>There are almost 20km of footpaths through 7 types of forest (who knew there were that many types of forest?!) that will allow you to take great photos.<\/p>\n<p>As for accommodation, you have a couple of options. The most popular is the Refuge, which is a camp site that offers 3 meals and some showers. The other option is the caba\u00f1as, which also supplies food, although you might be swayed towards the Refuge simple because of it&#8217;s stunning views of the region.<\/p>\n<p>To get to Parque Natural Chicaque it is possible to use public transport. There&#8217;s a <a href=\"http:\/\/afowen.com\/blog\/2010\/06\/22\/parque-natural-chicaque\/\" target=\"_blank\">good guide to that here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The other alternative is to get in touch with the park and they can organise transport for you.
