Seeing so much of <strong>the diversity of Colombia<\/strong> this year has truly reminded us why we all fell in love with this country in the first place; <strong>amazing people, gorgeous scenery, great (yeah, I said it!) food, and a real sense of adventure; Colombian travel has it all<\/strong>. Here&#8217;s to mush more in 2015&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15553\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15553\" style=\"width: 800px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/2014\/07\/world-cup-of-colombia-memes\/we-believe1\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-15553\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-15553\" src=\"https:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/We-Believe1.jpg\" alt=\"Colombia Brazil World Cup\" width=\"800\" height=\"606\" srcset=\"https:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/We-Believe1.jpg 800w, https:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/We-Believe1-300x227.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15553\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">We believe!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If Gabo&#8217;s passing was Colombia&#8217;s moment of collective sadness, then<strong> the World Cup was a moment of national unity and celebration unsurpassed<\/strong> in Colombia this year. With the national team taking part in the tournament for the first time in 16 years, and boasting a darn good team to boot (pun very much intended), <strong>hopes were high in Colombia<\/strong> that they would improve on their best ever World Cup. Boy, did they! With <strong>storming wins over Greece, Ivory Coast, Japan, and Uruguay<\/strong>, and a close run quarter-final against Brazil, Colombia challenged the world&#8217;s misconceptions and did their country proud. <strong>Seldom has a World Cup seemed to mean more&#8230;and the parties certainly didn&#8217;t hurt!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15102\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15102\" style=\"width: 800px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/2014\/06\/colombian-world-cup-guide\/james-rodriguez\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-15102\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-15102\" src=\"https:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/James-Rodriguez.jpg\" alt=\"James Rodriguez\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/James-Rodriguez.jpg 800w, https:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/James-Rodriguez-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15102\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Golden Boot Winner<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And speaking of the World Cup&#8230;<strong>you didn&#8217;t think we&#8217;d forgotten this guy did you?!<\/strong>\u00a0James Rodriguez was surely Man of the Year in Colombia in 2014: going into the World Cup, people though he might be one to watch&#8230;they were not wrong!\u00a0<strong>A Golden Boot, Goal of the Tournament, and multi-million dollar move to Real Madrid later<\/strong>, and we can safely say it&#8217;s been James&#8217; year.
