Colombia is great place to practice Spanish and meet locals because tourism is relatively new here and it’s not quite on the gringo trail yet. However, the country has adequate transportation infrastructure and much improved safety, making traveling easy and extremely enjoyable.<\/p>\n

Bogot\u00e1 is great as it has very distinct neighbourhoods, and there’s always something going on. Colombia has all the landscapes in the world: beautiful beaches, snow-capped mountains, deserts (including the Mars-like Tatacoa Desert) and Amazonian jungle. Colombia, in general, is somewhere you just have to visit.<\/p>\n
