Colombia is up with Vietnam and Brazil as one of the world’s most popular coffee producers, and the country has a reputation as one of the premium producers in the world.<\/p>\n

Colombian coffee<\/strong> is typically brightly acidic, strongly aromatic, rich and full-bodied, a result of the painstaking processes involved in its production. This flavor is also a result of their growth being in the ideal conditions available in the mountains in Eastern Colombia<\/strong>, a region aptly known as the Coffee Triangle<\/a>, or Coffee Region.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The reason this region is known as the Coffee Triangle<\/strong> is that the fertile area is punctuated by three major cities: Armenia, Manizales and Pereira. These cities are interesting places to visit, but the real attraction of the area is the combination of the coffee farms and factories with the stunning, mesmerising landscapes. It’s here in the Coffee Triangle<\/strong> that you’ll find Cocora Valley, home of Colombia’s national tree and an area that’s sure to enchant visitors. In addition you can visit the charming, colorful town of Salento – an area we’ve written about before<\/a>.<\/p>\n
