It turned out that he was <strong>looking for an intern<\/strong> to write some things in the mornings, about 20 hours a week. I had always loved writing and travelling, and my mornings were free, so I knocked up a CV and, <strong>within a week I was heading over to his place to begin work.<\/strong> Not to sound too dramatic, but<strong> I certainly could not have imagined on that first day where that internship would lead.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_7605\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7605\" style=\"width: 960px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/2013\/04\/why-you-should-move-to-colombia-now\/313428_481290641926677_1570393366_n\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-7605\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-7605\" src=\"http:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/313428_481290641926677_1570393366_n.jpg\" alt=\"Colombia waiting\" width=\"960\" height=\"720\" srcset=\"https:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/313428_481290641926677_1570393366_n.jpg 960w, https:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/313428_481290641926677_1570393366_n-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-7605\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">And don&#8217;t you want to be part of it&#8230;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Fast forward nearly two years, and <strong>I have just been lucky enough to become See Colombia&#8217;s new Editor.<\/strong> The experience which that internship gave me was invaluable in getting this new job, and allowing me to <strong>fulfil my goal of coming back to Colombia.<\/strong> I learned so much about writing, editing, and managing social media, amongst other things. <strong>It was also a lot of fun<\/strong>: the chance to write about my experiences in Colombia, show my photographs, and <a href=\"http:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/2012\/05\/colombian-cuisine-paul-chris-eat-ants-among-other-things\/\" target=\"_blank\">run around Bogota eating ants<\/a> for work was one I&#8217;ll never forget. The amount of exposure for my writing and photographs was something I could never have achieved on my own at that point. My photo even appeared in\u00a0<em>El Espectador<\/em>, one of Colombia largest newspapers! Although, I think the thing I was most pleased about is that there was a photo of Carlos Valderrama on the same page &#8211; equals at last!<strong>\u00a0The See Colombia internship gave me some priceless experiences.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_12401\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12401\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/2013\/12\/colombia-tiene-el-mejor-blog-de-viajes-de-las-americas-gracias-a-todos\/colombia-travel-blog-el-espectador\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-12401\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-12401\" src=\"http:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Colombia-Travel-Blog-El-Espectador-e1386700278450.jpg\" alt=\"Colombia Travel Blog en El Espectador\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-12401\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">In El Espectador&#8230;fame at last!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/SeeColombiaTravel\/photos\/a.189505284438549.60691.150402541682157\/641716995884040\/?type=1&amp;theater\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Now we&#8217;re looking for a new intern.<\/strong><\/a> The advert provides the key details, but all I can say is that it&#8217;s an amazing opportunity to come and work for<strong> the Best Blog in the Americas 2013<\/strong>, with a great team of passionate individuals, committed to showing the world the real beauty of Colombia.
