{"id":13724,"date":"2014-06-30T11:03:10","date_gmt":"2014-06-30T16:03:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/?p=13724"},"modified":"2016-03-30T15:57:47","modified_gmt":"2016-03-30T20:57:47","slug":"colombian-music-ondatropica","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/2014\/06\/colombian-music-ondatropica\/","title":{"rendered":"Colombian Holiday Music &#8211; Ondatropica"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>It&#8217;s a Colombian holiday!<\/strong> And that can only mean one thing here at See Colombia Travel: it&#8217;s been a weekend of dancing and celebration, particularly as <strong>Colombia&#8217;s national team are through to the quarter finals of the World Cup!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\" data-mce-mark=\"1\">So to help get you in the mood for a day off (or make you really jealous if you don&#8217;t live here) here&#8217;s some music from Ondatropica&#8230;(and even if you don&#8217;t have a day off, there&#8217;s nothing like some tropical music to brighten up a dull Monday, right!?)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\" data-mce-mark=\"1\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><center><object width=\"660\" height=\"415\" classid=\"clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000\" codebase=\"http:\/\/download.macromedia.com\/pub\/shockwave\/cabs\/flash\/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0\"><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\" \/><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\" \/><param name=\"src\" value=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/IybiGBbJXk4?hl=en_US&amp;version=3&amp;rel=0\" \/><param name=\"allowfullscreen\" value=\"true\" \/><embed width=\"660\" height=\"415\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/IybiGBbJXk4?hl=en_US&amp;version=3&amp;rel=0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" \/><\/object><\/center>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This is <strong>the wonderful Ondatropica, bringing the Colombian vibes to England&#8217;s own Glastonbury Festival<\/strong>, one of the largest in the world. I was there, and I have to say, they quite rightly brought the house (tent) down. Ondatropica is the joint project of Quantic (Will Holland, a British musician living in Colombia), and Mario Galeano, a multi-instrumentalist and <strong>expert on Colombia&#8217;s Tropical music history.<\/strong> Galeano is also involved in some of Bogota&#8217;s other important musical projects: the Tropical Noise of Los Piranas and the experimental Frente Cumbiero. Furthermore, his collaborators Eblis Alvarez and Pedro Ojeda are also members of<strong> wonderful Bogota groups such as Meridian Brothers and Romperayo.\u00a0<\/strong>You can read more about all of these groups <a href=\"http:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/2014\/03\/colombian-underground-music\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>But back to Ondatropica<\/strong>.
