Colombians are sleeping, even the cumbia band<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Las botas are hung by the chimney with care,<\/p>\n

Novenas<\/a> all done, smell of natilla in the air;<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Chig\u00fciros nestle in the Andean heights,<\/p>\n

Cities aglow <\/strong>with the twinkle of lights.<\/a><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Mamas in ruanas<\/strong> prepare ajiacos,<\/p>\n

Kids in pyjamas dream of regalos.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In the Amazon jungle, monkeys repose,<\/strong><\/p>\n

And near Manizales coffee quietly grows.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In Medellin Juanes lays down his guitar for the day,<\/p>\n

While in Barranquilla, Shakira arrunches Pique.<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The rainbow river dances downstream,<\/p>\n

Swirling, eternal, a crystalline dream<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Sweet vallenato rhythms lull the chivos to sleep<\/p>\n

(They\u2019ll be safe in Pasto<\/strong>, where they prefer cuy to sheep).<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Paisas and Rolos united in joy,<\/p>\n

Coste\u00f1os, Cale\u00f1os, each girl and boy.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Colombians worldwide, filled with Christmas cheer,<\/p>\n

Look optimistically towards the coming year.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Can we win the World Cup in Brazil?<\/strong><\/p>\n

With enough Christmas wishes maybe this time we will.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In 2014, may all of your dreams come true,<\/p>\n

Under the beautiful flag of gold, red and blue.<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n
