There’s a wealth of options when you’re looking to stay in Bogot\u00e1, from the hostels in La Candelaria to the more luxurious hotels in Bogot\u00e1<\/a>‘s north, almost all tastes and budgets can be\u00a0accommodated\u00a0for. You might remember Linda and Bernie’s travels from a while ago, when they decided to stay in the BH El Retiro (Cll 80 # 10). Well, I was quite taken when I went to show them around where they were staying, so I decided I’d stay there at the first available opportunity.<\/p>\n

That opportunity came recently when two friends I have from Ireland were finishing their South American trip here in Bogot\u00e1 and wanted to leave the backpacker scene for one night and spend their time in a good hotel. I knew exactly where to recommend, and decided I’d spend the night with them. So we, along with another friend, booked two rooms and spent the day enjoying all the luxuries that hotels provide.<\/p>\n

BH El Retiro is a sleek, modern hotel with all the mod-cons. We got breakfast, Wi-Fi, Cable TV (first English-language TV I’ve seen for some time), room service and a restaurant. We were near Zona Rosa so we could easily head out for drinks (which, of course, we did) and best of all, it was all affordable. As with all the hotels in the BH range (which can be found all over Bogot\u00e1 and in Medell\u00edn<\/a>), you’re getting high international standards at a great price.<\/p>\n

Like Linda and Bernie (although looking a little more out of place with our backpacks and torn t-shirts), we left the BH El Retiro completely satisfied and ready to recommend it to any more travellers looking for Bogot\u00e1 accommodation that wanted a little more bang for their buck.<\/p>\n
