{"id":1143,"date":"2011-08-12T17:45:08","date_gmt":"2011-08-12T22:45:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/?p=1143"},"modified":"2013-01-23T20:08:13","modified_gmt":"2013-01-24T01:08:13","slug":"feria-de-las-flores-2011-a-photo-essay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/2011\/08\/feria-de-las-flores-2011-a-photo-essay\/","title":{"rendered":"Fer\u00eda de Las Flores 2011: A photo essay"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>To conclude what&#8217;s become known around the office as &#8216;Medell\u00edn Week&#8217;, we&#8217;ve decided to round up our trip with something of a photo essay about our time at <a href=\"http:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/tours\/medellin\" target=\"_blank\">Medell\u00edn<\/a>&#8216;s Fer\u00eda de Las Flores 2011.<\/p>\n<p>We don&#8217;t have photos of some of the awesome concerts that took place earlier in the week (including a free ChocQuibTown gig), but we do have some photos from the classic car parade that swept through the city on the final Saturday of the Fer\u00eda. Don&#8217;t worry, that&#8217;s water, not aguardiente<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Having enjoyed the classic car parade the team went our separate ways, did our things (a spot of <a href=\"http:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/tours\/salsa\/\" target=\"_blank\">Colombian salsa<\/a> dancing for me) and arranged to meet the following day for the grand finale of the Fer\u00eda de Las Flores: the silleteros.<\/p>\n<p>What is a silletero? Well I&#8217;m glad you asked. We explain more <a title=\"Feria de las Flores, Medell\u00edn\" href=\"http:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/2011\/06\/feria-de-las-flores-medellin\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>So, sat comfortably among some bubbly Colombians, we watched the procession of silleteros pass us by, punctuated by floats with dancers, musicians, children shouting and people throwing bananas. Spirits were high among everyone and it made for a brilliant day in the beautiful Medell\u00edn sun.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1149\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1149\" style=\"width:
