Specifically, The Wandering Paisa Hostel, where I&#8217;m staying.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1115\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1115\" style=\"width: 500px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/wandering-p-pic.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1115\" title=\"The Wandering Paisa Hostel Medell\u00edn\" src=\"http:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/wandering-p-pic.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"340\" srcset=\"https:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/wandering-p-pic.png 500w, https:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/wandering-p-pic-300x204.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1115\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The brothers Knowles, founders of The Wandering Paisa Hostel<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>I first heard about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wanderingpaisahostel.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Wandering Paisa Hostel<\/a>\u00a0when I was in Bogot\u00e1. I met one of the owners, Miles, and he told me he&#8217;d recently opened a new hostel in Medell\u00edn where they aimed to show travellers another side of the city. I could understand; hostels in Medell\u00edn are generally good but they are all more or less located in the same area, near Parque Lleras. While this can be great if all you&#8217;re after is the same thing every day, the great thing about The Wandering Paisa Hostel is that you&#8217;re in an area most travellers don&#8217;t get to see &#8211; the lively and traditional Carrera 70.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from location benefits you&#8217;ll also find the hostel to be extremely accommodating with excellent service and bilingual staff. Either Brent or Miles (the owners, two brothers from the US) will be available to help you throughout the day and night should you need advice about the area, about Medell\u00edn, or about things to do.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1116\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1116\" style=\"width: 317px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/154790_543542853640_3900789_32015564_2070413_n.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1116 \" title=\"TWP Hostel\" src=\"http:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/154790_543542853640_3900789_32015564_2070413_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"317\" height=\"423\" srcset=\"https:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/154790_543542853640_3900789_32015564_2070413_n.jpg 453w, https:\/\/seecolombia.travel\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/154790_543542853640_3900789_32015564_2070413_n-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 317px) 100vw, 317px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1116\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The colorful decorations of the South American-themed rooms<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Rooms are clean, spacious and the hostel benefits from a calm, relaxed ambience that encourages guests to socialise but, if you&#8217;re not one for going crazy at night, you won&#8217;t be troubled by the usual noise you might have become accustomed to on the hostel circuit.
