As much as I love Bogot\u00e1 (and I love Bogot\u00e1), sometimes it’s nice to get away from the crazy traffic, the construction and the unreliable weather and head out to catch some rays. And, so, with this in mind you find us writing from Medell\u00edn where the sun is shining and the whole city is in a buoyant mood with the Fer\u00eda de Las Flores and FIFA U20s World Cup both taking place during the coming week.<\/p>\n

Now I know what you’re thinking to yourself: how did I we get to Medell\u00edn? Well I’ve got you covered. To get to Medell\u00edn from Bogot\u00e1 is easy and relatively cheap. You can either take a flight from Bogot\u00e1 that takes about 30 minutes and will cost you from US$60-$150 or take a bus.<\/p>\n

Plaza Botero<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The bus costs around US$30 and you take it from a bus stop near Salitre Plaza. If you’re based in the centre, you’ll want to take a bus from Calle 26 to Salitre Plaza, and then make the short walk from to the bus terminal.<\/p>\n

The journey will take around 10 hours but if you take it with Boliviano you can choose a journey that leaves at 10pm and arrives around 8am, meaning you can sleep during the entire thing and<\/em> save money on accommodation. Perfect. No food is served so be sure to take supplies. Also, try to get to the bus stop at least 45 minutes before your bus is due to leave to allow you time to buy the ticket.<\/p>\n

Once you disembark, you get easily take the Metro into the city centre or wherever you’re staying. More updates from Medell\u00edn coming soon. Good luck to England tonight, I expect we’ll need it…<\/p>\n
