Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta Colombia

Colombia is full of incredible destinations; be it jungle covered beaches, ancient ruins in the forest, or mighty humpback whales leaping from the ocean. One of the greatest wonders that Colombia has to offer is undoubtedly the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta – a huge mountain range jutting up from the Colombian Caribbean coast. It contains Colombia’s two highest peaks, Pico Colon and Bolivar, which top 5,700m and are both permanently snow-capped. The biodiversity is extraordinary, with some 27 endemic bird species calling the Sierras home. Not only that, but Colombia’s greatest iconic trekking experience to the Lost City takes place within their forest clad valleys. So here’s a little visual feast to allow you to enjoy the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta in all it’s mysterious glory…
