Well, picking my best Colombian moment is fairly difficult as I’ve been in this marvellous country pretty much all my life. I was born in Bogota and decided that before jetting off to discover the world I should get to know my own country better.
The first place I visited – and have now been to four times in total – is Medellin. It’s almost impossible to resist visiting again and getting blown away every time I go. It might be due to its warm weather, the friendly people, or the activities on offer for all tastes, with a party atmosphere all year round, numerous cultural events and natural resources for adventure sports such as: zip line at Arvi Park, aquaseiling (abseiling down a waterfall) and abseiling in Tamesis or going paragliding in San Felix; all of which I was able to enjoy while taking in an amazing view.
There’s also the Colombian Caribbean, with reggae beats, crystal clear waters, a ridiculous variety of fish, Hollywood sunsets, as well as the opportunity to admire the seven colored sea with its warm waters. In fact, this part of the world is considered to be one of the best for scuba diving, it’s simply another world down there. Coming across exotic animals in Providencia and sailing the open waters for more than six hours is something that I will never forget.
Lastly wandering the enchanting streets of historical Cartagena is simply magical, taking in so much culture in each of the museums, its colonial architecture, walking along the walled city, talking to street vendors, marvelling at the sunset from a fancy café, and, why not, taking the Segway tour. As we have mentioned before there’s a great deal of astonishing landscapes in Colombia, besides no matter where you go you will find very welcoming people.
However, this is just the beginning of many more greatest moments…
What’s your favourite moment in Colombia?
