We’ve spent so much time celebrating and feeling pretty happy with all our achievements last year so we thought it was about time we brought our feet firmly down to the ground and took a look at what we didn’t get right last year.
Don’t get me wrong, we love all our children the same here at the Colombia Travel Blog, but something about these posts just didn’t click with you, our beloved readers. So in homage to those ugly ducklings, those spritely young things that just come about at the wrong time, here’s a run down of our top (or bottom?) 5 least popular posts of 2011.
An Introduction to Vallenato, Colombia’s Folk Music
We also posted something about cumbia music which got a great response, but for some reason this little nugget of information about vallenato just never clicked. Shame, since vallenato is one of the most important aspects of Colombian culture and something the people, for the most part, hold very dear to their hearts.
Colombian Weather – An Introduction
Always sunny? Pah. As a resident of Bogota, I can only say I wish it was always sunny in Colombia but sadly that’s not the case. The most bird species in the world, the most flower species in the world and an array of animals (whales, dolphins, monkeys…) that you may never have expected to see… It’s a paradise waiting to be discovered.
Getting Around on Bicycles in Tolu
On my first trip to Colombia, Tolu was one of the biggest surprises for me. A place I’d never heard of didn’t expect much from turned out to be one of my favourite places to go. Near to some of Colombia’s most beautiful island and almost shaking from the volume of the local’s music, it’s an unforgettable experience and somewhere very much off the beaten track.
