I travelled through Colombia with See Colombia Travel in Spring 2011 and I had an absolutely brilliant time. Immediately as we exited the Bogota airport we realized that it was true: Colombians are very probably the most kind people on earth. Our experience was like this for the rest of the trip – full of adventure, friendly people, and fantastic times. We began with a city bike tour of Bogota, which was fantastic even in the pouring rain! The fruit market was definitely a favorite! I have been a frequent traveller to Africa, India and Asia for the last 25 years and I relish the opportunity to travel to new and exciting destinations. I was looking for a new place to visit having exhausted the rich variety of options in these regions. I wanted to try a somewhat new destination and, after doing research and reading an article in a British newspaper about how it retained a distinctive air of authenticity, I decided upon Colombia. In October 2010 two friends from Australia and I decided to book a tour through See Colombia Travel, after reading very positive things about the company on line and because we felt a little unsure about travelling through Colombia without any guidance. I got in touch with Ingrid and she suggested some itineraries based on what we wanted out of the holiday (sun, beach, tropical paradise and some salsa!), and we decided on a 2 week trip along the Caribbean coast from Cartagena all the way up to the northernmost tip of Colombia all starting from the capital, Bogota… See Colombia took care of everything, sorted us out with a mini van and an awesome driver/guide, booked all the accommodation and planned daily events to minute detail. For the entire two weeks my friends and I just kicked back and enjoyed everything without any of the hassle of travelling solo. We cruised the coast, and our guide Gonzalo found us the best beaches, the best parties (in Cartagena & Santa Marta) and the nicest accommodation around. It´s hard to say what my favourite part of the trip was – I think maybe staying in the amazing tropical paradise of Parque Tayrona or walking around the old colonial part of Cartagena, or maybe stretching out in hammocks on the beach up at El Cabo de la Vela. The trip was fantastic, everything was taken care of by See Colombia and we now consider Gonzalo a good friend, as well as other friendly locals we met on the way. I totally recommend See Colombia Travel to anyone considering a trip in what I think is probably the most beautiful country in South America. - Cameron Curtis
