Colombia Fácil: explore Colombia with ease

Colombia Facil Logo

If you’ve travelled in Colombia then you may well recognize the cover of Colombia Fácil: this handy little pocket-sized guide to Colombia is available in hostels throughout the country and online, and provides valuable info on hostels, destinations and Colombian culture. Paul interviewed Inge Swinnen, the brains behind Colombia Fácil, back in 2012 following the publication of the 1st Edition of the guide, and we couldn’t be more pleased to announce the recent publication of the 2nd Edition. But enough from me, it would be better to let Inge explain it all in her own words….

“My name is Inge Swinnen, I am Belgian and I love Colombia. The 2nd edition of my pocket-sized travel guidebook to Colombia called Colombia Fácil just came out. The 274 page handy guidebook aims to make travel easy and accessible to travellers looking to explore all aspects of Colombia. This extensive guide is offered in a combined English and Spanish text and can be found in hostels, eco-lodges, tour operator offices, language schools, and dive centers throughout the country for the price of 3.000 Colombian Pesos (equivalent to $1.59, € 1.17). It also can be found digitally online at the website www.colombiafacil.com. From this website tourists can use the link to read the e-book for free on their phone, tablet or other portable devices.”

“This year I improved the guide a lot by choosing a full color print combined with pictures, a more detailed map and a better division of the regions. More accommodation and tour options have been added, as well as in-depth information about crossing the border from Panama, Ecuador or via the Amazon. There are two new places to stay in Quito and Panama City, so guidebooks will be available in border countries as well. This way I highlight Colombia to more countries abroad. The easy to navigate guidebook highlights the various regions of the country, transportation options, interesting facts, insider tips, discounts, prices, lodging choices, the golden rules of traveling here, maps, information on tours, and salsa school opportunities. The goal of Colombia Fácil is “to make travel in Colombia much easier, more comfortable and more exciting while also showing the real Colombia in all its beauty in a very straightforward way!” I find the most amazing thing about Colombia is that the country offers something for everyone; for young and old and for every type of traveller.”

Amen, Inge! We here at See Colombia couldn’t agree more. I would strongly urge anyone travelling or considering travelling in Colombia to pick up a copy of Colombia Fácil: the information is up-to-date and helpful, and the discounts certainly don’t hurt!
