So we were recently nominated for the 7 Links Project by Tend To Travel. For that we give Amer a big abrazo since we’re part Spanish, and a massive high-five since we’re part English. The project was started by TripBase Blog, who say the project is designed ‘[t]o unite bloggers (from all sectors) in a joint endeavor to share lessons learned and create a bank of long but not forgotten blog posts that deserve to see the light of day again.’ A noble enterprise. We’ve written a lot that we feel you, the general public, may have overlooked since we try to post every day, so let’s commence.
Our most beautiful post
This post and this whole story is so beautiful that if it wasn’t already engaged, gosh darn it we’d marry it all over again. We’re proud of our little love story over here at Colombia Travel Blog and we still swoon like love-struck teenage girls at a Jonas Brothers concert every time we see that video.
Our most popular post
There’s nothing people like reading more than something about themselves, and these posts (there’s two parts) give Colombians and us foreigners a little chance to laugh at ourselves and each other. After all, let’s face it, as a species… we are kind of ridiculous, aren’t we?
Our most controversial post
Safety in Colombia is always a controversial issue and we waded into the debate with a big, gleaming grin and an approving nod towards our Colombian amigos. We stand by what we said, but we know that the debate will rage on for years to come…
Our most helpful post
Basics first people. No point knowing how to get from Ecuador to Colombia if you can’t even spell the country right, since you might just find yourself back in the US by accident. What I think was most helpful about this post, however, wasn’t the correction itself, but the fact we explained it. I think that helped a few Colombians forgive us anglos for our ignorance. That’s kindness.
A post whose success surprised us
This one achieved far more success than we initially thought. Part of our mission is to promote Colombia and try to change people’s minds about what this country is all about… Little did we know so many people were so advanced in their thoughts about Colombia and so willing to consider Colombia’s future as a top travel destination. Kudos to you, Señor Publico.
A post we feel didn’t get the attention it deserved
Not only did we promote a great festival here, we also played on words! Just look how many references there are to classic jazz and blues artists and albums tucked away in this post! We hoped at least one person would pick up on it. A Love Supreme? Kind of Blue? Inner Mounting Flame? And that’s just the beginning! Maybe you did pick up on it… I guess not everyone is as easily pleased as we are.
The post that we are most proud of
We’re proud of this post not only because it took quite some time transcribing Toby and Tiger’s interview, but because we’re pleased to be presenting opinions about Colombia from all parts of the world, from all types of people, and from two guys as interesting and verbose as these two. They’ve got great ideas about Bogotá, and we’re proud to give them a soapbox to stand on.
So there you go, we’ve travelled down the Colombia Travel Blog Memory Lane and the next stops on our 7 Links Project Bus are as follows:
